Our Family Recipe for...
Sour Cream Pie!
First the Crust: (the flakiest around)
Mix together:
3 c vegetable shortening
6 c flour
1 T salt
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c vinegar dissolved into:
3/4 c milk
Roll out & use for pies, pastries, etc! (Will make about 2-3 double-crusted pies!)
Sour Cream Filling:
Boil: 3 c heavy sour cream
Mix together: 3 c sugar
1/4 c corn starch
dash nutmeg
Add sugar mixture to boiling sour cream wisking and folding as to not burn the bottom.
Continue stirring until thickened.
Let cool then put your pie together!
Egg wash the top crust to make it pretty and bake at 350• for 30 minutes or until top crust has browned.
Add blueberries, blackberries, raisins, rhubarb, etc to the sour cream when cooled.
Enjoy!
