we're laying there, you & i, listening to a mix of rain on the tent & daddy playing cards with grandma judy, katy, debbie & sandy, and all that matters to you & i both are the songs i'm singing & whether or not you're warm enough. what tells me that you are as comfortable & happy as i am, is the soft kiss on the cheek you give me as we are snuggled up together on the ground. this isn't something new. you kiss a lot. you love to give kisses, actually. (your daddy & i have never even kissed eachother as much as you've kissed us & your baby) but laying there, just you & i, raining & cold outside, & feeling your little lips on my cheek, was one of the most precious moments of my mommy life.
